SDGs Introduction of UN Sustainable Development Goals and to

gain insights on the 17 SDGs and appreciate Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and able to make significant changes in their community.

Introduction of ESG, and the alignment to SDGs and how Partnership in Goals create Social and Environmental Impact to the Earth.

SDGs Session 2

Topic: ESG & SDG Project Management Workshop

ESG & SDG Project Management for the Constructive Implementation of Projects aligned to SDGs and ESG which are effective and practical that resulted in achieving SDGs goals and P5 impact.

Participants will learn problem-solving skills and be able to deal with challenges in a sustainable way. Thus they are able to make impactful changes to their communities in accordance to the application and impact assessment and be part of the SDGs and ESG movement.

Community engagement with Penang Youth & Local Community

SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being

“To ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.”

Students will engage together with Penang Youth and the local community at high school by providing volunteerism activities in alignment to students who study social sciences.

Social Impact on ESG

Cross-cultural Exchange with University students

Target: University Students (USM/UOW/PENINSULA)

Arts and cultural engagement with local students will take place including Language Exchange, Arts & Cultural Workshop and Simulation Games.

The exchanges program aims to develop social impact to the youth community by appreciating arts and cultural values from the 2 different countries. This exchange program will create opportunity and mutual understanding,

encourage curiosity, respect and open-mindedness among the students.

Exploring UNESCO World Heritage Site in conjunction with George Town Festival

SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

“Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable”

Students will be exposed to the series of the events in UNESCO World Heritage Site George Town in conjunction with George Town Festival. Students will learn Malaysia Multiracial culture and custom, appreciate the heritage in Penang.

The festival features interactive and educational programmes that includes workshops and performances in the streets of the Historic City of George Town. Through the Celebrations, the local communities come together to celebrate and showcase their own cultural practices, performances, food, and crafts.

SDGs Session 3

Topic:

The Build Environment Promoting Inclusive and Sustainable Industrialization and Foster Innovation

SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

“Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation”

The session will be conducted by University of Wollongong (UOW Malaysia-KDU University College) at their Campus in Georgetown/Batu Kawan. Students will

be exposed to the concept, research, theory, technology and innovation and case study pertaining to SDG 9.

Industrial Exploration

SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation

“Disclosure Unlocks Corporate Action To Ensure Access To Affordable & Sustainable Energy”

Students will learn the conversion process of human waste and food waste to clean and useable water and fertilizer for crop and livestock farming.

SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

“Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation”

Students will visit and expose to SDG 9 in the real

setting at the commercial park that promotes sustainability of the industry and infrastructure under the new

innovation.

SDGs Session 4

Topic:

Changing Behaviour for Sustainable Development on Biodiversity & The Mother Earth

SDG 13: Climate Action

“Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts“

SDG 14: Life Below Water

 “Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development”.

SDG 15: Life on Land

 “Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat dessertation, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss”.

Students will attend the workshop at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) by the Professor from USM.

SDGs Industrial Exposure (UWC, PKT, The Ship, Vitrox)

Students will visit to 3 organisations including UWC, PKT, and The Ship Campus (Industry inside the Campus)

3 organisations from the industry of IR4.0 (UWC), Shipping and Logistics (PKT) and Education (The Ship Campus) in a day exploration. Students will be explained from the industry points of SDGs practices and implementation. 

Students will learn the practices by UWC, PKT, The Ship Campus in achieving SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17 via policy making, projects, productions, education, incentives, with the various stakeholders from the spectrum of economic, environment, workplace and local communities.

SDGs Session 5

Quality Education & Lifelong Learning

SDG 4: Quality Education

 “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”.

The session will be conducted at VITROX College (Campus in the Industry) that focuses on SDGs 4 Quality Education. A session will be arranged for student exchange with Vitrox Academy.

Meantime, students will also visit to ViTrox, who specializes in designing and developing automated vision inspection system and equipment testers for the semiconductor and electronic packaging industries as well as electronic communications equipment.

SDGs Excursion & Team Building

Location: Escape Penang

SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

 “Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns”.

ESCAPE is the fun destination with exciting rides and games hosted in a tropical rainforest in Penang. Escape optimize the natural resources economically and implement non-consumptive principle and reproduction of by-product from the nature and simultaneously protect and conserve the natural resources and the biodiversity.

Meantime, to foster team spirit and bonding among

the students through the teamplay challenge activities.
